Autoscore Rc

RC Scoring Pro was created by Doug Hay, and has been powering RC races around the world for over a decade. Other scoring programs have come and gone, but none are as friendly, flexible, and affordable. RC Scoring Pro was designed for the serious race director. It has advanced features race directors need, and features racers love because it helps them improve their lap times. RC Scoring Pro sets the new.

These days Gas Truck is as dead as Standard Monster Truck the turnout has been so weak on a local level that the major santioning body (ROAR) was unable to muster up a full heat for the nationals. I am sure there are still some club races out there in the midwest that get a heat but the glory days of 1/10th scale gas truck are done. Back in 1999 Hot Rod Hobbies was jumping with Gas Truck all the guys were running GAS Truck Marty Korn, Charles Charron, Chad Bradley, Jeremy Kortz, Greg Degani, Bill Hagan, Jimmy Babcock and some locals I would like to mention that have been consistently racing at HRH for years- Larry Aronson, Steve Burnside and Mike Curnellto mention a few. I remember Mike Weed used to work miracles with his Mugen gas truck but most of us were running Losi andAssociated. We would get 30 deep on any given Tuesday with the A main chalked full of big name drivers and local fast guys hence the Title Tuesday Night Nationals. It makes me sad to know that our love beloved 2wd Gas Truck class has hit a brick wall; and it ain’t just a popped ball-cup the whole class is demolished. As a racer I am always sad to see a class go… now I know how all those old 7 card stud players feel at Commerce Casino. Luckily there is still a 2wd truck class that we all seem to be enthusiastic about… SLASH!

Tuesday we saw a whopping 49 trophy truck entries anda total of over 100 race entries in all classes… yes it certainly was a Tuesday night nationals magazine guys such as Aaron Waldron and advertising executive to hi-torque’s publication www.rc-car.com(RCCM). Professional drivers such as Jammin’s Chad Bradley in his CR-x2 and Jeremy Kortzwhipping around the Hyper 9 in hot persuit. Not to mention all the new local talent such as Calvert, Wagner and Wintermantle to name a few. Racing was set to start at 6pm andI was determined to get things going on time. With a couple late entries hustling in as the heat sheets were being posted I was only slightly delayed as I knew we had to start plugging away to insure we got nitro done by 10pm. A few adjustments later we were off and running- to be honest qualifiers were a blur as I was constantly rambling off statistics andanswering racers questions regarding transponders. I always suggest that race directors take the time to make sure the racers with personal transponders are cars 0ne two and three- this will insure there are no hick-ups in the event that the late entries (11-12-13) will be able to pick up the transponders without delay since those numbers blead over to the other transponder color bank- its funny how things slow up the program- but luckily this is onequick fix. … round 1 took nearly 2 hours and round 2 took about an hour anda half. I had just enough time to get these guys a good length main and still be doneby 10pm with the nitro portion of the race program which is always the first races during our club program, electric goes last because it is much more quiet so we can also turn down the amp so the neighbors across the wash will be appeased.

We rocketed into the mains without hesitation:

Sportsman 1/8th scale buggy saw Kevin tzonsqueeze out a 5 second win over Haz-mat (another old school GT local) Jasun Carter ran solid for third in his Losi 2.0 Havoc limped it in for fourth and Albert Dimagiodid not start due to a racer turning on his radio during round 2 and the darn thing popped on him- I felt bad for him V-spec is toast. We are working on getting him a new motor or fixing the old one… The kid that turned on his remote did not know better but I spoke with him and his father about the severity of the issue and the hazards/costs involved if it happens again in the future. Dimagiotook it with a grain of salt but I assured him that he would be back up and running andI also let him know that I had already spoken with the kid and his dad andthe issue did not need to be pressed any further. I also provided Albert with a free race credit since he was a total victim and his night was cut short.

Sportsman Truggywent down to the B-main with Mike Rogozik Bumping up over Jack Kasten- I was happy Mike had won, Jack was talking smack in round 2 andMike is a cop so he didn’t like the situation of someone talking down to him in a manor that the whole Kasten crew quite frankly is known for. Still it was just the type of victory Rogo needed to boost his spirit andhe knew exactly who he beat. In the A main we saw Josh Robertson finally turn in a solid run with his 2.0 Losi Truggy as he had to take a few weeks of getting used to the feel and debugging the system. Ken Rendall 2nd which I believe got him a lock on the 1st place prize for the May and June series. Wingnut finished a strong third… the kid is getting fast quick!

In Expert 1/8th Buggy Chad Bradley dominated yet again and has a lock on the point series championship for May and June. Jeremy finished about seven seconds behind as Bradley made it by for the victory lap and Kortz was caught at the loop with second. I love when Chad finishes a good run… he does this little 360 trick off the lip of a jump- it looks pretty darn cool! Scott Wagner finished in third as it seems he is all settled in with his Hyper 9. Man the kid has only been racing for two seasons and he has already picked up two different factory rides! Brad 4th and Charles Charron rounded out the top 5.

In Modified Brent Calvert continued to prove to the open mod guys that slow is fast by dominating once again with his 13.5 brushless motor! Mayhew edged out Leach for 2nd.

EpertSlash saw DJ Silva secure his title for the 2 monthseries with a stellar run that left Willie Crash and Brian Daughteryin the dust as it settled we saw a photo finish of 2 tenths of a secondfor second and third. The top three turned 15 lap runs in the 6 minute gala.

Stock buggy ran12 deep in the A main as we were pressed for time and Calvert took it with ease and will go with strong confidence back to the ROAR Nationals this year.

That about sums it up… a day after my birthday and this race felt like a late gift… thanks racers!
